Ronald Cunningham known as “RC” from Columbia, South Carolina started playing drums at the early age of 4 years old. Growing up in a Christian home Ron continued to develop his craft as a drummer and started playing drums for local quartet groups in Columbia SC. His last quartet group named Lil’ Harp and Soul Disciples afforded him the opportunity of being on many gospel programs with Professional Quartet Legends which soon led him to a career to play professionally for the Legendary Tommy Ellison and the 5 Singing Stars for 15 years. Playing for Tommy Ellison, Ron recorded several CD’s such as “Trying to Get to Heaven”, “Let’s get Closer” “Christian Lady” “Let this be a Lesson” “Out on the Ocean sailing” and so many others to name. His playing for Tommy Ellison allowedhim to travel all over the world lifting up the name of Jesus through song and was inducted into the Quartet Gospel Music Hall of Fame with Tommy Ellison & The 5 Singing Stars for his playing. While still playing for Tommy Ellison, Ron received acall from the man himself known for singing –“Under the Boardwalk” and the famous song “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” from the well known movie Home Alone known as “Bill Pinkney” and The Original Drifters to play drums for his legendary group. This career move allowed Ron to again travel all over the world and country and play drums for the Original Drifters and landed him on the television broadcast the NBC “Today’s Show” with the well known news anchor Katie Couric performing songs with the Original Drifters.
